LOS ANGELES – Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa will be joined by Laker legends Earvin “Magic” Johnson and Michael Cooper — all Boys & Girls Club alumni — at a pep rally in support of the Boys & Girls Clubs Los Angeles Alliance fundraising challenge.
Prior to the Lakers and Celtics squaring off for the NBA Championship, Mayor Villaraigosa issued a friendly challenge to Boston Mayor Thomas Menino and Boston fans to see who could raise the most “smiles and support” for their local Boys & Girls Clubs. In Los Angeles, fans can text “BeGreatLA” to 20222 for a $5 donation or donate online at www.BeGreatLa.org to show support for their home team and home Clubs.
