Kodak’s Chief Marketing Officer Jeffrey Hayzlett to Keynote Gravity Summit’s One-Year Anniversary Event

Helmed the “gold standard” of social media marketing events, the one-year anniversary of Gravity Summit will be held at UCLA on February 22, 2010

Gravity Summit is pleased to announce that Jeffrey Hayzlett, Eastman Kodak’s Chief Marketing Officer and Vice President, will be the featured keynote speaker at the upcoming Social Media Marketing for Business conference at UCLA in Los Angeles, CA on February 22, 2010.

The one-year Anniversary event will focus on Twitter and social media’s role in today’s culture and how that impacts business today. In his keynote address, Mr. Hayzlett will speak to an audience of senior business executives business on how social media is a key part of Kodak’s strategy to improve their brand and drive revenue for the company.

Hayzlett has embraced the new platform, even making headlines with his both controversial and ground-breaking social media ventures. Hayzlett has not only combated competitors via Twitter, but he also ran an unprecedented campaign to rename Kodak’s Zi8 – praised for its performance, criticized for its name – in which followers were asked to suggest an alternate name for the product. The winning suggestion replaced Zi8 and the winner was sent to this year’s Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.

“We are delighted and honored to welcome Jeffrey to Gravity Summit’s one-year anniversary event at UCLA. It is refreshing to see a traditional corporation like Kodak embrace social media to help reach their customers and drive business results in new and innovative ways,” says Beverly Macy, CEO of Gravity Summit. “Our business audience is going to benefit greatly from the Kodak story and Jeffrey’s first-hand experience and knowledge.”

Jeffrey Hayzlett serves as the Chief Marketing Officer and Vice President, Eastman Kodak Company, reporting to Kodak Chairman and CEO Antonio M. Perez. As CMO, Mr. Hayzlett is responsible for the company’s worldwide marketing operations including the design and implementation of all marketing strategies, investments, policies, and processes. He leads the company’s efforts for Strategy and Planning, Marketing Programs, Marketing Network Operations, Brand Development and Management, Business Development, and Corporate Sponsorships.

Additional speakers at the event include USA Today’s Acquisition Marketing Manager Brian Dresher, Boost Mobile’s Customer Relationship Manger Rachel Gross, and the Founder of Cool Twitter Company, Bob Fine. The all-day event features workshops, as well as Continuing Education Units (CEU) for qualified participants.

Registration is now open and seating is limited. For more information go to www.gravitysummit.com or call 310-860-4788.

Gearing Up For 2010 at UCLA

We just wanted to remind you to put the event on your calender and get ready for an amazing event on 2-22-2010 at the UCLA campus. This will be our 1 year anniversary since we launched this event last year.

I (Rodney Rumford: co founder of gravity summit) will be heading to the CES show in Las Vegas today for 4 days of learning what companies are doing in the social aspects of their businesses. I will be talking to some of the brightest minds and bringing back those learning to our UCLA event.

Looking forward to seeing everyone for our 1 year anniversary event which should prove to be amazing. The past year we had events at UCLA, Stanford, UC Irvine, Harvard and in NYC, and the UCLA Anniversary event will be the latest in what works, case studies, best practices, etc.
