Everyone’s buzzing about Twitter and social media, but most marketers are still wondering just how to use it. At Gravity Summit events attendees hear from their peers in business about best practices and lessons learned as they are immersed in a full day of information, education, networking, and conversation with peers.

The Gravity Summit at Harvard event will be unique in that we will be joined by people famous in their field of popular culture who are active on Twitter and in social media. Join Beverly Macy and Rodney Rumford and their celebrity speakers from entertainment, the news media, non-profits, sports and other areas of popular culture for this intimate one to one conversation. Gain insights on how Twitter and social media is being used by these celebrities and the impact it is having in their lives and industries.

Gravity Summit is the brainchild of New Media Visionary, Author and Strategic Consultant Rodney Rumford. Beverly Macy, CEO of Gravity Summit, also teaches Social Media Marketing for the UCLA Extension Executive Business and Management Division. Beverly and Rodney began hosting a series of high-powered social media marketing events scheduled for 2009 at the UCLA Faculty Center on February 25, 2009, and then again at Stanford on May 5, 2009 and just successfully completed UCI on June 22,2009.

Young & Rubicam’s Chief Insights Officer John Gerzema to Headline Gravity Summit

Gravity Summit is pleased to announce that Young & Rubicam’s Chief Insights Officer John Gerzema will be the opening keynote for the upcoming Social Media Marketing for Business event at the University of California, Irvine on June 22, 2009. Gerzema is the author of the bestselling book “The Brand Bubble,” that was named to the BusinessWeek Best Seller List and was hailed by AdAge as one of the “Books You Should Have To Read.”

The theme of John’s keynote is how marketers are reconnecting with their customers using social media. Attendees will learn firsthand about the four cultural values shifts shaping new consumer strategies and brand behavior. John will also demonstrate how marketers are reconnecting with their customers using social media, search, inventive pricing, distribution and ideas beyond traditional communications.

“My talk will focus on how consumers are changing as a result of the recession and how companies are employing a myriad of new creative strategies to reconnect to their new mindset. Consumers are rapidly changing, and many of the best companies are as well,” said John.

John is recognized as one of America’s early founders of Account Planning. He co-founded Account Planning at Fallon Worldwide in 1992 and was integral to its growth in the mid-90’s, when Fallon tripled in size, was named Advertising Age’s “Agency Of The Year” (1996), and earned an A+ management rating in ADWEEK (2004). His client experience includes Coca-Cola, BMW, McDonald¹s, Citibank, Sony in Japan and China, Nikon, and Nikon Digital.
